SLIC Make a contribution to Israel Emergency Campaign
SLIC Committee Leads by Example
After the Jewish Community Relations Council St. Louis Israel Connection (SLIC) extensive briefing and discussion for 50 young adults on “The Crisis in Israel,” the SLIC Committee pooled their resources and presented a check to Jewish Federation for the Israel Emergency Campaign. The Committee felt it was important to lead by example.
In a letter to Federation, the Committee wrote: “The leadership of SLIC feels strongly that supporting Israel and helping its people rebuild their lives in this time of crisis is essential.

“We feel that now, more than ever, it is our responsibility to redouble our efforts in reaching out to young adults. Our recent programming focused on informing our peers about the crisis in Israel, engaging them in Israel advocacy activities and encouraging them to support Israelis in need through the IEC. At the briefing we requested that each attendee consider making a contribution. In addition, we will be hosting Brian Abrahams, from AIPAC, for a follow-up event on September 19th.” (Appeared in www.jewishinstlouis.org August 25, 2006)
