The Jewish Community Relations Council, the National Council of Jewish Women - St. Louis Section and Hadassah-St. Louis Chapter, in conjunction with the JCRC Advocacy Coalition are combining forces to present Community Speak Out: An Advocacy and Education Training Workshop on Sunday, February 4, 2007, 9:30 a.m. - noon at the Jewish Federation, #12 Millstone Campus Drive.
The entire Jewish community is invited to participate in the training workshop including sessions on: How a Bill Becomes a Law, How to Track a Bill, Effective Methods for Advocating, and an Overview of Key Issues for the 2007 General Assembly. State Representatives will be featured presenters. A continental breakfast will be served.
The event is free, but space will be limited and reservations are required. Groups and classes are welcome. Please RSVP to NCJW at 314-993-5181 or via e-mail at admin@ncjwstl.org.
Members of the Jewish Advocacy Coalition include: American Jewish Committee, American Jewish Congress, Anti-Defamation League, Central Agency for Jewish Education, Hadassah, Jewish Family & Children’s Service, Jewish Community Relations Council, National Council of Jewish Women, & OACAP.
The coalition will also be sponsoring a Community Speak Out trip to Jefferson City on Tuesday, April 17. More details to follow.
